Emergency crews worked to clear the scene of a car crash that knocked down a power pole and saw victims rushed to hospital, firefighters say.

The crash happened on Sunday before 8 p.m. when Brampton Fire and Emergency Services says first responders were called to Coleraine Drive for reports of a motor vehicle collision.

When emergency crews arrived they found a white sedan had crashed, knocking down a utility pole and power lines.

BFES didn’t say how many vehicles were involved but pictures shared from the scene showed a dark-coloured vehicle in a ditch flipped onto its roof and a damaged white four-door car on the opposite side.

Multiple patients were transported from the crash scene to hospital with undisclosed injuries, BFES said.

Firefighters had Coleraine Drive closed between Countryside Drive and Mayfield Road for some time while crews from Alectra Utilities worked to repair the damage.
