ROAD CLOSURE: Driver seriously injured in single-vehicle crash in Mississauga

UPDATE: Peel police say that the driver’s injuries are non-life-threatening. The roadways have also reopened to the public.
A driver was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police said in a social media post that officers responded to a collision Saturday morning shortly after 7 a.m. along Derry Road East and Dixie Road.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a trauma centre, though updates on their condition are unknown.
In addition, officials have not provided more information on the driver, including their age, place of residence and whether they were male or female.
Authorities have closed Derry Road between Dixie Road and Telford Way and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with police saying updates will be provided as they become available.
