There’s a risk of strong winds and the possibility of flying objects in parts of southern Ontario on Monday night.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a special weather statement at 4:22 p.m. for communities on the banks of Lake Ontario.
Winds gusting up to 80 km/h are possible through the evening on Monday with the statement in effect for Kingston, parts of Peterborough, Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Bellville and others.
“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage,” ECCC says, with the strongest winds expected nearest to the lake.
The strong, southwesterly winds should die down through the evening and into Tuesday, the agency says.
