RECALLS: Children’s walkers, clothing, bikes and laptop chargers recalled in Ontario

Residents are urged to inspect their homes for these frequently used items, as many carry risks of injury such as falls and burns.

Here is a list of what’s being recalled in Ontario for the week of March 10:


2-piece Tommy Bahama Set (Smiley Crew Neck Long Sleeve with Twill Pant) 

The plastic pieces on the end of the drawstrings at the pant waist can detach

This recall involves a Tommy Bahama clothing set for kids. It consists of brown stretch twill pants with rib cuffs and a drawstring. The pants are sold alongside a blue or green butter fleece crewneck top. The set features an embroidered winking smiley face near the left shoulder of the top. The clothing sizes range from 2T to 5T.

The following items are affected by the recall:

  • 237234—Green 2-piece Smiley crew neck with twill pants.
  • 40727—Blue 2-piece Smiley crew neck with twill pants.

The issue with the product is the plastic pieces on the end of the drawstrings at the pant’s waist can detach.

The company reported that 661 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and 1,071 were sold in the United States between Dec. 2023 and Jan. 2024.

Risks: Poses choking hazard.

What you should do: Stop using the product and return it to any Winners, Marshalls, or HomeSense store for a refund.

As of Feb. 29, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.


GT LaBomba Bicycles and Framesets

This recall involves GT Model Year 2019-23 LaBomba Bicycles and framesets.

The bicycle’s headtube/downtube may detach from the frame.

The company reported that 324 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and 3,038 were sold in the United States between February 2019 to January 2024.

Risks: Potential fall hazard.

What you should do: Individuals are urged to stop using the recalled product and take it to the nearest authorized GT dealer for a complimentary replacement frame.

As of March 7, 2024, there have been no reports in Canada of bicycle headtube/downtube separating from the frame. In the United States, the company has received one report of weld damage and no reports of injuries.


Baby Einstein Sky Explorers Walkers

Baby Einstein Sky Explorers Walker

The recalled baby walkers are banned in Canada.

Baby walkers present safety risks by enabling access to hazards that would otherwise be inaccessible, increasing the likelihood of injury. This includes the danger of falling down stairs, potentially resulting in severe harm or even death.

The company reported that eight units of the affected products were sold in Canada between August 2022 and November 2023.

Risks: Poses injury hazard.

What you should do: Discontinue using the recalled product and safely dispose of it in such a way that it cannot be used again, or return the walker to TradeInn.com for a refund.

As of March 3, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Sixty-three different models of the adapters are being recalled. Some include:

The issue with the product is that the flame retardant used to manufacture the components of the impacted AC adapters could lead to potential overheating.

The company estimates that approximately 1,289,270 affected AC Adapters were sold in Canada, and 15.5 million were sold in the United States between April 1, 2008, and April 30, 2014.

Risks: Potential fire and burn hazards.

What you should do: Individuals should dispose of all affected AC Adapters and contact DCI for a free replacement.

As of February 2, 2024, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries related to this issue in Canada. However, Dynabook America, Inc. (“DBA”), a US-based affiliate of DCI, has received 679 reports of potential incidents and 43 reports of minor burns between 2010 and 2021 in the United States.
