Ontario residents are being urged to inspect their homes for several products that may pose risks of entrapment, fall injuries, and fire hazards. Here is what’s being recalled this week:

Stanley-Branded Stanley JR Kids Wheelbarrow

Stanley JR Kids Wheelbarrow and 7-piece Garden Set

This recall involves the long hoe and rake in the Stanley JR Kids Wheelbarrow and 7-piece Garden Set (model 1662178), which are found above the package’s bar code.

The set includes a wheelbarrow, apron, gloves, rake, hoe and hand tools. Only the long hoe and rake, which have yellow-painted wooden handles and black metal ends are affected.

The hoe and rake’s surface coating contains lead levels exceeding the allowable limit under Toys Regulations, posing a risk of lead exposure to children.

According to Health Canada, lead is toxic if ingested and can cause serious health effects, including anemia, vomiting, brain injury and, in extreme cases, even death.
