Hundreds of Star Wars-themed Christmas ornaments have been recalled in Canada, with officials saying they may pose a health risk to some individuals.
Health Canada issued the notice on Thursday and said it involves the Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Tree Ornament which features the Star Wars character Cad Bane.
It was sold in a collectable and reusable white storage box with red sides. The code 2199QXE3341 is printed on the bottom of the box.
Mould was found on the exterior surface of the ornament, officials said.
“Mould may pose a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mould,” the notice said.
As of Nov. 8, the company had received 12 incident reports of mould contamination, officials said.
No injuries have been reported.
Those who purchased the product were advised to immediately stop using it and return it to Hallmark. The company asked that consumers do not bring the product to stores and instead contact them with questions on the return process.
A receipt is not needed to get a refund.
There were 548 sold in Canada from September to October.
It was manufactured in Sri Lanka.
