Province reporting 1,794 new COVID-19 cases, 355 in Mississauga and Brampton

The province is reporting 1,794 new COVID-19 cases today (May 22) and 20 new deaths.
There are 416 new cases in Toronto, 355 in Peel, 147 in Durham, 140 in York Region, 90 in Hamilton, and 78 in Halton.
Since yesterday, 2,520 more cases are considered resolved and nearly 34,600 more tests completed.
7,925,277 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario.
“This includes 190,129 doses administered yesterday — a new record for doses administered in a single day,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott.
Residents got the go ahead to get outside this weekend with the province announcing that many outdoor recreational amenities throughout the province will be allowed to reopen, including splash pads, golf courses, driving ranges, tennis and basketball courts, baseball diamonds and batting cages, soccer and other sports fields, lawn bowling and bocce, marinas, and BMX and skate parks.
