Professor’s Lake beach might be small, but it is mighty. And it’s opening for the summer this year on Saturday June 30
Complete with a swimming area, fishing, a water slide, beach volleyball courts, pathways, and playgrounds, Professor’s Lake is definitely a mini-beach getaway for those who want to escape to the sun and sand without having to drive outside the city.
Canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, and paddleboarding are also available at the lake.
The beach is located near Bramalea Road and North Park Drive, and it’s accessible via Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre.
According to the City of Brampton, the lake is manmade and spring-fed, spanning 65 acres, and it was once a quarry.
Professor’s Lake also has change rooms if you bring your beachside gear, food concessions, and second-floor lakeview rental and meeting rooms.
The boathouse at Professor’s Lake has actually been open since June 2.
You can also expect a scenic trail at the park for walking, cycling and inline skating.
The entire park spans a whopping 94 acres, making it the fourth largest park in Brampton.
Admission to the beach is under $5 – it’s $4.10 per person.
According to the City, the Region of Peel tests the water and beach quality at Professor’s Lake, which you can find updated daily by 2 p.m. here.
Happy beach days, Brampton!
