Power outage hits downtown Hamilton

Nearly 300 homes and businesses in downtown Hamilton have been affected by a power outage.
Alectra Utilities states that the outage is in the area of Barton Street and John Street North. About 281 customers are affected, and crews are on the scene. The utility has yet to post an expected time of resumption (ETR).

UPDATE: By 9 p.m. on Tuesday, about 250 of the affected customers had had their power restored. Alectra says about 30 have an ETR of 12 a.m. as crews continue working.
