Power outage affects nearly 500 homes and businesses in Mississauga

Nearly 500 homes and businesses in Mississauga’s northwest end remain in the dark after the power went out on Thursday afternoon.

Alectra Utilities officials said in online updates the outage was reported early Thursday afternoon in the area of Britannia Road West and Erin Mills Parkway in Meadowvale and initially impacted nearly 3,000 customers.

As of 4:30 p.m., 442 homes and businesses were still without power.

Repair crews are on the scene, officials added. Power is expected to be fully restored between 5 and 7 p.m.

The cause of the outage is being investigated.
