Power outage affecting thousands of homes, businesses near airport in Mississauga

A power outage is affecting thousands of homes in a major part of Mississauga around Pearson Airport on Thursday evening (Aug. 22).
A total of 2,249 homes and businesses in the area of Airport Road and Highway 427 were without power when the outage hit sometime around 8:18 p.m.
Some 2058 customers remain without power as of 8:47 p.m.
Alectra Utilities have dispatched crews to the site of the outage. The reason for the outage remains under investigation.
An estimated time for the restoration of the power is expected to be between 12 midnight and 2 a.m. on Friday.
