Power knocked out in large area of north Brampton

Power has been knocked out for almost 4,000 residences in north Brampton.

Electric utility Alectra says crews are currently at the scene of the outage in the McLaughlin Rd. and Mayfield Rd. area. It is reported the power was knocked out due to a vehicle hitting a hydro poll.

Electricity is expected to be out in the affected area until 1 p.m.
