Possible abduction in Mississauga.

A man who’s believed to have hit a woman before forcing her into an SUV in Mississauga’s north end and then fleeing the scene with her is being hunted by police.

Peel Regional Police said the incident unfolded just before noon on Tuesday when a man became involved in a physical altercation with a woman in the area of Mississauga Road and Meadowvale Boulevard, just south of Highway 407 and north of Highway 401.

“During the incident, the man was reportedly seen striking the female and forcing her into a vehicle before leaving the area,” police said in a news release on Wednesday.

Police said they tried to stop the SUV, but the driver didn’t comply and quickly sped away, evading officers.

Investigators describe the car as a 2006 Acura MDX SUV, black in colour and bearing Ontario licence plate marker DARP 182. The vehicle has a gold Acura emblem and front-end damage, police noted.
