Porter Airlines cancels flights in Ontario due to global technical outage

Porter Airlines has cancelled flights due to a global technical outage.
The airline announced it has cancelled flights until 12 p.m. today (July 19) due to third-party systems outages affecting global industries. The outage is impacting those who use Microsoft systems including some airlines and banks.
The issue has grounded other flights at Pearson Airport, knocked banks offline and media outlets off air in a massive disruption that affected companies and services worldwide.
Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack — and that a fix was on the way.
Porter Airlines says the outage is impacting parts of their website, reservations, flight changes and inquiry systems.
Passengers cannot be rebooked while the systems are offline, Porter says.
Call centre agents also don’t have access to reservation or rebooking information.
For more information, see the Porter website.
Porter is cancelling flights until 12 p.m. ET, for July 19, 2024, due to third-party systems outages affecting global industries. Visit https://t.co/1IdMdjaOrV for more information and updates. We’re working to return service asap.
