If you live in Mississauga or the western GTA, you no longer have to visit downtown Toronto to get a taste of Eataly.
Eataly, the massive Italian marketplace known for its grocery selection, food counters and in-house restaurants and cafes, announced that it will be opening its new Sherway Gardens location on Nov. 2.
Sherway Gardens is located in Etobicoke, a short drive from the Mississauga border.
The Italian food mecca, founded by Italian businessman and investor Oscar Farinetti in 2003, has grown internationally since its first location opened in Torino, Italy, in 2007. The brand opened its first Canadian location in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood in November 2019.
According to a news release, Toronto will be the only North American city other than New York City to boast two Eataly locations.
The Sherway Gardens store, located in the southeast area of the mall, will span 25,000 square feet and feature restaurants, multiple food counters, a marketplace and a cafe.
Eataly currently operates 47 stores in 16 countries, including Italy, the US, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, and Brazil.
More information on the store’s feature will be revealed soon, according to a news release.
