Pop-up food truck events coming to Mississauga movie nights in August

Food truck fans can get their fill next month in Mississauga.

Food Truck’N Events brings MRKT, a food truck pop-up event, every Thursday in August.

There will be a different lineup of more than 10 food trucks at Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Dr., from noon to 10 p.m.

The food trucks are not yet listed but each Thursday, MRKT will showcase an “international culinary experience,” Food Truck’N Events says in an Instagram post.

And the event coincides with the City of Mississauga movie nights, which run Thursday nights in the square from 8 p.m. until Aug. 31.

“Every Thursday in August, enjoy a new experience as the participating vendors & movies will be different all 5 weeks,” Food Truck’N Events says. “Come have lunch or dinner & a movie… Or both!”

The food trucks will be at the Celebration Square Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.

Here is the movie line-up for the month of August:

  • Thursday, Aug. 3 – DC League of Super Pets
  • Thursday, Aug. 10 – Peter Rabbit: The Runaway
  • Thursday, Aug. 17 – Paw Patrol: The Movie
  • Thursday, Aug. 24 – Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
  • Thursday, Aug. 31 – Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Movie-goers can bring a blanket and enjoy the show. Pre-show starts at 7:30 p.m. and movies run from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Movie Nights are free and accessible. All featured films offer closed-captioning displayed on both Celebration Square digital screens.
