A tea stop that promises to be more than simply a place to grab a great cup of tea has opened a pop-up at Square One Shopping Centre.
Daniel’s Chai Bar, founded in 2014 by a businessman in Brampton who believes the tea biz can be “used as a force for good,” is running the pop-up at The Food District inside Square One from Feb. 22-28.
The pop-up is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and is located in the District Kitchen area of The Food District, on level one of the shopping centre.
Daniel’s Chai Bar describes itself on its website as providing “a brand that is committed to changing how people see the world, using tea as the vehicle. ”
“Our focus is to not only bring you premium quality tea, but also to help you enhance your overall tea-drinking experience,” the description continues. “We believe that each encounter with tea should be exceptional, and enchanting. We are aware that there is so much to learn about tea, and we want to be a part of telling its story.”
Daniel’s started out as a small tea cafe in the heart of downtown Brampton, and it quickly became well known for its popular Lion Chai latte.
The company continued for four years before relocating to Bramalea City Centre in 2018.
The company’s owner said shortly after that, he and his wife started a family–and that changed the entire business concept.
“We made a difficult decision at that time to dissolve our brick-and-mortar store and move our business fully online with an e-commerce store, where customers could shop our teas globally,” the owner says on the company website. “This way we could still operate our business, while also adapting to the new joys and challenges of parenthood.”
On the menu, Daniel’s Chai Bar offers a variety of hot teas, including its customer favourite Lion Chai, and iced frappes.
