Police seize $45K in traffic stop in Parry Sound, Brampton driver charged

A Brampton man faces several charges after a traffic stop in Parry Sound.
Police attempted to stop a vehicle in Parry Sound on Jan. 18, OPP said in a press release on Jan. 31.
The driver fled from police but was later stopped a short distance away, OPP said.
Police say they found and seized more than $45,000 from the vehicle, which they suspect are the proceeds of a crime.
Harjoban Nahal, 23, of Brampton faces the following charges:
- Flight from peace officer, contrary to Section 320.17 of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, contrary to Section 320.18(1)(a) CC
- Failure to comply with an undertaking, contrary to Section 124(4)(a) CC
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, contrary to Section 12(1) of the Cannabis Control Act 2017
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed, contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
Nahal is scheduled to appear in court in Parry Sound on Feb. 16.
