Police in Caledon search for suspect in credit card thefts after arresting man from Brampton

Police in Caledon have charged a Brampton man with seven offences including possession of stolen credit cards and IDs.

On Nov. 1, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Caledon detachment were called to the Walmart Plaza in Bolton after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle.

When police arrived they determined that the vehicle had been stolen and apprehend one individual at the scene.

Jaspreet Singh, 29, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Two counts of Theft of Credit Card
  • Four counts of Possession of Identity Documents

Singh is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in January 2022.

Police say a second suspect in the incident and is still at large, and investigators are asking the public to help identify the individual.
