Police searching for Mississauga man after shooting threat, gun seized in Niagara Falls

Niagara police have made an arrest and have issued an arrest warrant for a Mississauga man after a recent shooting threat.
On Friday, Nov. 19, officers commenced an investigation into an alleged threats call where a male threatened to shoot another male.
The investigation led police to search a Niagara Falls motel, where they reportedly seized a 9mm Glock pistol, 15 rounds of ammunition, fentanyl with a street value of $12,400, and $1,600 in Canadian currency.
26 year old Chessen Anthony Johnston of no fixed address was arrested and charged with uttering threats, multiple firearm-related offences, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Investigators have also identified a second suspect.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 21 year old Mississauga man Tameshwar Hitarain, who is wanted on the following charges:
- Point Firearm
- Possess a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with
- Unlawful Possession of Firearm without Holding a Licence
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds under $5000
Police say further information about Hitarain, as well as a photo of him, will be released when it becomes available.
