Police officer pepper sprayed during arrest in Mississauga

A Peel Regional Police officer was reportedly pepper sprayed during the course of an arrest in Mississauga this evening (Oct. 6).

According to a witness, the incident occurred at the Monte Carlo Inn, at Derry Road and Edwards Boulevard.

Police were investigating a collision, and one vehicle was blocked by police at the motel’s parking, the witness said.

After that, the police officer was allegedly attacked with pepper spray and an ambulance was called to the scene.

Cst. Tyler Bell-Morena, Media Relations Officer for Peel police, confirmed the incident via an email to insauga.com.

“Officers involved did not sustain any injuries in the incident,” Bell-Morena said.

“We cannot provide further information at this time.”
