Police in Ontario city ram SUV stolen in Mississauga; two on the loose

A vehicle stolen from a banquet hall parking lot in Mississauga was rammed by police in Barrie, Ontario to prevent the thieves from fleeing.
Despite the collision, two suspects managed to escape but officers managed to make one arrest.
The incident unfolded yesterday (Nov. 24), after Barrie Police received a tip that a stolen vehicle was spotted in a neighbourhood of the central Ontario city.
The SUV was reported stolen earlier from the parking lot of a Mississauga banquet hall.
During the altercation, police took a 16-year-old into custody.
“Officers at the scene contained the area while a canine track was conducted for the driver and a passenger who fled on foot. Unfortunately, they were not located and remain outstanding,” according to a police report.
The person arrested, a passenger in the vehicle, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The person arrested cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He has been released from custody but is scheduled to appear in Youth Court at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on Dec. 17,
The investigation continues as police search for the two remaining suspects.
