Police hunt for ‘armed and dangerous’ suspects after shooting death of man in Brampton

Peel Regional Police are searching for this stolen Honda Civic after a man was shot and killed in Brampton on April 5, 2024.

UPDATE: Police said on Friday that the suspected getaway vehicle has been recovered.

Investigators are on the hunt for a shooter and a stolen Honda after a man was shot and killed outside a home in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say the shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. on Friday at a home on Finegan Circle in Brampton.

The shooter had already fled the scene by the time police arrived to find a man in his 30s suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

In an update on Friday, police say they believe the suspect fled the area in a red Honda Civic with a licence plate reading DAPK152.

Peel police spokesperson Const. Tyler Bell-Morena told reporters that the Honda was previously reported stolen and that the occupants are considered “armed and dangerous.”

He added that the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and investigators are still working to determine if the victim was targeted.

Police say there may be multiple suspects and say anyone who spots the vehicle or has information about the shooting should contact investigators.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red 2020 Honda Civic with a licence plate reading DAPK152. The vehicle also has gold door handles and trim, and a yellow racing strap on the front.
