Police charge two men in connection with Brampton banquet hall double murder

An East Gwillimbury man faces second-degree murder charges in connection to a June shooting at a Brampton banquet hall.
The June 19 shooting at the Chandni Convention Centre, a banquet hall located at 5 Gateway Blvd. in Brampton, left two people dead. The incident happened around 2 a.m.
Kenroy Benjamin, a 28-year-old man from Bolton, died at the scene, and a second victim, Sheldon Taylor, a 40-year-old man from Whitby, was transported to a trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.
On Aug. 10, police charged Ezekel Vincent, a 36-year-old man from East Gwillimbury, with second degree murder in connection to Kenroy Benjamin’s death, Peel Regional Police said.
Robert Dallas a 36-year-old man from North York was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Both men appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing.
No charges have been laid in connection to the death of Sheldon Taylor, and the investigation continues.
