Blackout leaves over 2,000 homes and businesses without power in Brampton

Alectra is still dealing with the aftermath of Saturday’s storm which knocked out power in several areas of Brampton.

“Our crews are still continuing to make progress but we are still attending multiple outages across our service area,” Alectra has announced through social media channels.

Areas currently affected include a large section in the central part of the city east of Main St. N., west of Goreway Dr., south of Williams Pkwy. and north of Highway 407.

Others pockets include Heart Lake Conservation Area and a neighbourhood in the Highway 407 and Kennedy Rd. S.

Most of the disruptions have been caused by downed power lines and transformers.

Alectra predicts power will be restored in these areas just after noon today (May 24).
