Police are investigating after a car crashed through a shopping mall, forcing a Brampton restaurant to close until next week.

The multi-vehicle crash happened on Wednesday at Bramalea City Centre in Brampton in the parking lot near the Pickle Barrel restaurant, with Peel Regional Police saying officers were called about the incident around noon.

When police arrived on the scene they found a vehicle had crashed through a wall of the Pickle Barrel. Photos posted online show a damaged white four-door sedan inside the restaurant with debris, tables and chairs scattered about.

Investigators say they also found two damaged vehicles in a parking lot on the east of the restaurant.

Police said no injuries were reported in the crash and an employee at the Pickle Barrel confirmed no one was hurt, but the restaurant will be closed until at least Monday.

A spokesperson for PRP did not comment on whether any arrests were made or if charges are pending in the crash, but said the crash is under investigation and officers are working “to determine the facts of the incident.”
