Peel police have arrested and charged a man following an investigation into the alleged sale of bogus concert and sporting event tickets.

Police allege that Shaun Nixon, 38, advertised fictitious tickets for sale for concerts and sporting events through his social media profile and online classifieds.

With the assistance of the R.C.M.P.’s B.C. Fugitive Return Program and the Vancouver Police Department, the accused was arrested in Vancouver on the strength of the outstanding warrant for defrauding the public on April 25.

The accused was returned to Ontario, where he was held for a bail hearing on May 1.

Police say the accused used an alias of “Shaun Dawson” and his real photo for his social media profile.
