Peel Police Arrest 51-Year-Old Man In Connection To Multiple Frauds

The Peel Police have arrested a 51-year-old man from Brampton in relation to a series of home renovation and cheque frauds. The frauds occurred over a four year period.

Between April 2015 and March 2019, Albino Irgolino allegedly used different business names and entered into contracts to complete home renovations which were never initiated.  In addition, he allegedly offered electronics for sale, accepting cash for promised items that were never delivered.

On May 29, Irgolino was arrested and charged with defraud of the public, three counts of fraud under $5,000 and breach of recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton the same day.

According to the Peel Police, the total amount defrauded is approximately $18,000. Irgolino is allegedly known to have used an alias of Al Trichillo and investigators believe that additional victims may exist.

The police advise the public that they have rights when entering into a contract with home renovators, which can be found visiting the Ministry of Consumer Services website.
