Peel police appeal for witnesses in Mississauga teen’s shooting

Peel police are seeking witnesses or video surveillance footage that might assist their investigation of the shooting of a Mississauga teenager early on Monday (Aug. 2).
The shooting, which the Peel Regional Police believe was targeted, is being investigated by the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau. Early Monday morning, the 17-year-old shooting victim contacted police advising he had been shot, in the area of Darcel Avenue and Etude Drive. His condition is currently stable.
Police are appealing to the public in locating any surveillance video or witnesses that were in that area between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. who may have captured the shooting or have information that could assist with this investigation. It is believed that the suspect fired the shot from a distance away.

This is believed to be a targeted incident.
