UPDATE: Man dies in a hit-and-run in Brampton

A man has died after he was struck in a hit-and-run collision in Brampton.
The person was hit by a vehicle at Fairlawn Boulevard and Humberwest Parkway in Brampton shortly after 9:30 a.m. today (July 3), Peel Regional Police said.
The man was referred to as a pedestrian but police later said he was riding a bike.
He was sent to hospital and at first police do not know the extent of the person’s injuries. But in an update, police said the man’s injuries were considered life-threatening.
A vehicle fled the scene, police said. There was no vehicle description provided.
Police asked drivers to avoid the area.

Update: The man succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital, police said.
A female driver was later found near the scene and faces impaired driving charges. Further charges are expected once police finish their investigation.
