Pedestrian struck in Mississauga, expect major traffic delays

Peel Police in Mississauga are on the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian early Thursday morning (May 19) that has closed a major road in the area.
A female pedestrian has serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga.
Peel police responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the area of Derry Road East And Edwards Boulevard around 5:45 a.m.
She was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver remained at the scene and the cause of the collision is unknown.
Westbound lanes from Kennedy Road are impacted but eastbound lanes on Derry Road are open.
Drivers should expect major delays in the area.
