Pedestrian struck and killed at busy intersection in Brampton

A pedestrian was struck and killed at a busy Brampton intersection.
A vehicle hit the pedestrian at Queen Street East and Rutherford Road South just before 9:30 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 10), Peel Regional Police said in a tweet.
Police say the pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
No charges have been laid at this point.
Roads were closed in the area until just before 3 a.m.
