Pedestrian sent to hospital after Brampton crash

A woman is in the hospital tonight after she was struck by a car at a busy Brampton intersection.
The woman was walking near Ray Lawson Blvd. and McLaughlin Rd, near homes and commercial plazas, around 6:30 p.m. She was struck by a car and suffered injuries severe enough to require a trauma centre.
The vehicle remained at the scene of the crash. Peel Regional Police have closed the northbound lanes of McLaughlin Rd. down from Ray Lawson Blvd. to Kingknoll Dr.
Police have advised motorists to stay clear of the area for the time being while they investigate.
