One man is dead following a collision between a pedestrian and a driver in a Brampton plaza parking lot.
Peel Regional Police say the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the parking lot of a plaza in the area of Main Street South and Nanwood Drive in Brampton.
Police say the pedestrian was hit and pronounced dead at the scene, and a spokesperson for Peel Paramedics said the victim was an adult male.
Few details were immediately available from police but photos from the crash obtained by Insauga.com show the parking blocked off with caution tape with first responders including Peel police, Peel Paramedics and Brampton Fire and Emergency Services on the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.
The collision is at least the second fatality involving a pedestrian and a vehicle this week in the Region of Peel.
On Monday, emergency crews responded to a collision at Lakeshore Road East and Orchard Road in Mississauga shortly after 7 a.m.
Police said a man in his 70s died after he was hit by a black Jeep. The driver in that crash also remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.
