Pedestrian airlifted to hospital after crash in Brampton

A pedestrian in Brampton has been rushed to hospital by an air ambulance after a crash on Friday (Sept. 23).
Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 23), Peel Regional Police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the area of Bovaird Dr. East and Kennedy Rd. North in Brampton.
One adult male pedestrian was taken to a trauma centre by an air ambulance, and police say the female driver of the vehicle was also injured.
Early details on the crash are limited but police say the pedestrian and the driver suffered unknown injuries.
Officers are still at the scene of the crash and northbound Kennedy Rd. has been closed between Notre Dame Ave. and Bovaird Dr., while southbound Kennedy Rd. remains open.
Residents should avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible.
Police initially said two pedestrians were involved in the collision.
