Travel numbers might be trending down slightly at Pearson Airport in Mississauga amid the latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the swank factor is on the rise.
Landmark Lounge, the largest independently operated airport lounge in North America, opened this week in the international departures area inside Terminal 3.
Among other amenities, it features a wellness spa offering massages and manicures and a large bar serving the best in champagne and other drinks.
Concept Lounge, which serves departing Terminal 1 travellers while the existing post-security lounge is updated, was also unveiled this week.
Both lounges were launched by Plaza Premium Lounge, an award-winning independent airport lounge network.
Plaza Premium says the new spaces build upon its established presence across Canada that also includes another lounge at Pearson that serves Terminal 3 domestic travellers.
Landmark Lounge, Plaza Premium’s flagship space, is described as “an all-inclusive airport hospitality experience open to all travellers.”
Additionally, it’s “the most premium lounge located in Canada and serves outgoing international and transit travellers,” the lounge’s operators say.
Featuring more than 300 seats, the 11,948-sq.-ft. lounge “offers a spacious environment and elevated experiences to make travellers feel safe and relaxed as they embark on their international travels.”

Landmark Lounge boasts a modern design with both private and communal seating in addition to:
- a panoramic view of the tarmac
- a wide variety of food and beverage options, including a “to go” menu
- a children’s play area and nursing room
- a wellness spa offering massages, manicures and shower facilities
Concept Lounge, which opened on Dec. 13, offers guests “an enhanced food and beverage experience focused on wellness,” operators say.
This temporary lounge also offers travellers a Fast Track security card intended to make their journey through security seamless and fast.
It “will reduce the average amount of time waiting in the stressful security line and start (guests’) travels” by allowing them the opportunity to wait in a relaxing atmosphere.
Additionally, because Concept Lounge is located before security areas, it allows family and others who are not travelling to spend time with loved ones before their trip, lounge operators say.
Plaza Premium operates 14 lounges across the country, including the recently opened Air France KLM Lounge in Montreal.
