No more debates for Mississauga mayoral candidate Carolyn Parrish.

The front-runner in the race to replace former mayor and now provincial leader Bonnie Crombie, Parrish’s campaign made the announcement just hours before the More Homes Mississauga debate was held at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) campus on Monday night (May 13).

“We are respectfully declining all debates,” said a statement released by her campaign. “Our campaign will continue to focus on a positive, productive approach, engaging directly with Mississauga residents. Carolyn is eager to continue meeting with individuals and groups in the short time that remains until election day.

“We regret any inconvenience.”

Parrish took part in last week’s debate in Port Credit. She had missed two previous debates due to what she says were scheduling issues due to holding fundraising events.

Monday night’s debate at the UTM went ahead with candidates Alvin Tedjo and Dipika Damerla and several other Mississauga councillors.

The election is being held Monday, June 10, 2024.
