It was recently announced that Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives will be receiving $100,000 from the federal government amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sonia Sidhu, Brampton South MP, made the announcement on behalf of Steven Guilbeault, minister of Canadian heritage on October 16, 2020.

“Yesterday, I had the honour to announce on behalf of Minister Guilbeault, that our Federal Government is investing $100,000 towards PAMA through our government’s COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund right here in Brampton South!” said Sidhu on Twitter.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted PAMA greatly after it closed its doors to the public in March.

“Although PAMA had to close their doors in March due to the pandemic, they have remained virtually active. This Federal funding will ensure that they have the resources to continue their work in preserving our local heritage in the Region of Peel during the pandemic,” added Sidhu on Twitter.

Since March, PAMA has provided families fun and unique ways to enjoy themselves through various online resources and virtual activities.
