Pair from Mississauga facing drug and firearm charges

A man and a woman from Mississauga are facing drug- and firearm-related offences following a police search at a Goreway Drive residence.
Peel Regional Police say that on Thursday, officers from the 21 Division criminal investigation bureau and tactical unit executed a search warrant in Mississauga. As a result, a loaded KAHR Arms P40 handgun and a quantity of drugs was located and seized.
Arsalan Syed, 29, of Mississauga, is charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized firearm in motor vehicle
- Possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of firearm with altered serial number
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
Reshma Harrypaul, 32, of Mississauga, is charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of firearm with altered serial number
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
Syed was held for a bail hearing. He has made a court appearance in Brampton to answer to the charges.
Harrypaul was released. She will appear in a Brampton court at a later date.
