Police are searching for a suspected scammer after allegedly making almost $7,000 in credit card charges and stealing a package in Caledon.
The fraud was first reported on Oct. 10 when officers from the OPP Caledon detachment were called to a home on Crestwood Road just minutes after a courier slip was left at the door.
Police say a female suspect took the courier slip and used a fake ID to claim the package, which had also been purchased using the victim’s credit card.
Investigators say three purchases were made on the card with a value of nearly $7,000.
The suspect left the home in a dark blue or black SUV and police have released images of the suspect and are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact investigators.
The suspect is described as a female and was wearing a white baseball cap, a blue shirt and a striped sweater.
