Overdose of Pelham man leads to drug charges, two Stoney Creek men arrested

Two Stoney Creek men have been charged with numerous drug offences in connection with a police investigation into the overdose of a 45-year-old Town of Pelham man.
Niagara Regional Police responded to call on April 11, 2024 in the Town of Pelham and discovered a dead man after which the cause of was determined to be an overdose.
A drug investigation launched to identify the potentials sources of origin for the illegal substances that were trafficked to the man prior to his death has resulted in charges against two men.
A search warrant was issued Thursday (July 18) on a vehicle and residence in Stoney Creek and resulted in the seizure by police of:
- 42 Fentanyl patches with an estimated street value of $4900,
- 492 Oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of $19,680, and
- $33,900 in Canadian currency
Radomir Horvath, 51, faces the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Oxycodone) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 355(a) of the Criminal Code.
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code. (Two Counts)
Horvath was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
Silvie Horvathova, 49, faces the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Oxycodone) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 355(a) of the Criminal Code.
Horvathova was later released from custody with a Promise to Appear at a future court date.
