Police say a Taylor Swift concert ticket scam has netted fraudsters tens of thousands of dollars.
Today, Halton police said officers are investigating a series of ticket frauds involving Swift’s ongoing concert series in Toronto.
On Nov. 14, police began receiving complaints about undelivered tickets. To date, investigators have received approximately 40 complaints of fraudulent or nonexistent tickets involving the same vendor.
The estimated total value of these tickets is more than $70,000.
At this point, no arrests have been made.
Any Halton resident who has fallen victim to a scam involving tickets can report it to police by calling the non-emergency number at 905 825 4777. Anyone residing outside of Halton is asked to contact their local police service.
“Residents are asked to use extreme caution when purchasing tickets and be aware of potential frauds and scams,” Halton police said in a news release.
