Travel is in the books for many Ontario residents in 2025.
A poll from INsauga.com finds over 65 per cent (1,459) of readers plan to travel in the next one to six months.
Just over 16 per cent (355) plan to travel in six months to a year. And over 18 per cent of readers don’t plan on travelling anytime soon.
But the blast of cold weather and snow this week may have some people changing their minds.
There are many choices out there and good deals.
Popular destinations include three major Japanese cities — Osaka, Tokyo and Kyoto, according to a recent report from travel company Expedia.
Other places seeing an increase in search traffic include Dubai, Maldives and Chicago.
Those on the fence about travelling might find some good deals on Boxing Day.
Expedia is offering up to 30 per off hotel bookings, and Sunwing has up to 30 per cent off on hundreds of resort stays. Flight Centre also has deals on vacation packages for Boxing Day.
Some of the cheapest flights on warm-weather spots in 2024 were Orlando (flights from $382), Fort Lauderdale ($411) and Cancun ($588), according to travel search aggregator Skyscanner.
Trendy locations like Thailand, Japan, the Dominican Republic and Portugal are also seeing a decrease in prices, according to Kayak, an online travel search engine.
