Dozens of speeding tickets and fines were handed out by police in Caledon last week during a crack-down on road safety.
The safety blitz was dubbed “Operation Perfect 10″ by the Caledon OPP and had 12 officers out on Friday (June 23) looking for drivers behaving badly on Highway 10.
The day-long crackdown saw plenty of speeders, drivers not wearing seatbelts, using handheld devices while driving and a few unsafe commercial vehicles taken off the road.
There were a total of 72 Speeding violations handed out on Friday along with one charge of stunting, eight seatbelt violations, 26 moving violations, another 35 non-moving violations, and three commercial vehicles taken out of service.
While officers were focused on Highway 10 last week, the OPP says officers will be out watching for speeders, impaired driving and other infractions as summer weather means more vehicles on Ontario roads.
With the arrival of summer and increased travels, #CaledonOPP urges road users to drive safely. Expect an increased police presence on @TownOfCaledon roads.
