Over 100 dining options, restaurants and eateries at Square One in Mississauga

Everyone knows Mississauga’s Square One is the largest shopping centre in Ontario, but the centre has recently established itself as also being one of the biggest culinary destinations, offering some of the best food and drinks in the GTA and Ontario.

In fact, Square One is home to a massive number of over 100 food and dining options, covering just about every cuisine and craving under the sun: Japanese, Italian, Indian, Korean, Mexican, and much more.

Whether visitors are hungry after their shopping trip or coming specifically for the food, there’s something for everyone at the popular shopping centre. And new restaurants are opening here continually, so foodies should keep their eyes peeled!

From casual eats to fine dining, here are some of the many spots to grab a bite to eat at Square One:

The Food District

The Food District is Square One’s urban food hall for restaurants of all kinds. It’s currently home to over 20 popular restaurants, including Mexican restaurant La Carnita, dessert spot Big Fat Cookies, and The Purple Bakeshop and Mymy Chicken offering tasty baked goods and Korean fried chicken, respectively.

Even more options are available in The District Kitchen, located in the heart of The Food District. The District Kitchen hosts a variety of new pop-up restaurants every week, allowing for rare culinary experiences that shoppers might not find elsewhere, while always having something new for regular guests to look forward to.

The combination of established eateries and rotating pop-ups makes The Food District one of Mississauga’s biggest restaurant hotspots, mixing fresh food options with the authentic feel of an urban food hall.

Sit-down restaurants at Square One

Square One has even more places to get a good meal, including 19 sit-down restaurants for those who want to dine in. Have dinner with friends and family at Earls and Scaddabush, catch the big game at Moxie’s and Jack Astor’s, and enjoy all-day breakfast and brunch at Pür & Simple, among other options.

Their newest sit-down restaurant is Au Pain Doré, a Montreal-based bakery-café known for their freshly baked bread, pastries and sandwiches. The new restaurant is a perfect spot to sit down for some breakfast and coffee, either inside or out on the spacious patio.

The Rec Room

Eats and entertainment come together seamlessly in The Rec Room, the popular entertainment destination which is well worth visiting on its own, or as a fun way to round off a day of shopping at Square One. This social hotspot features over 80 popular arcade games with prizes to be won, axe throwing, bowling, shuffleboard, archery, and a number of pool and ping pong tables to let you get competitive with friends and family.

If all the games have worked up an appetite, guests will find no shortage of filling dishes on the Rec Room’s extensive menu: shareable plates, wings, nachos, pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, as well as hearty pasta and steak dishes. The meal can be paired with one of their signature cocktails, wines, beers, non-alcoholic cocktails, or sodas off of their drinks menu.

A lighter, snack-focused menu called The Shed is also available, offering savoury poutine and fries, shareable snacks including tempura buffalo cauliflower, hotdogs, corndogs, and wood-fired pizza.

Food Central

Located in the center of the shopping centre on Level 1, Food Central is Square One’s central hub for fast food and takeout options with over 27 options to choose from – making it a perfect spot for those who want a quick bite to eat in between shopping. Some of the featured restaurants here include the famous Chick-fil-A, Pi Co. Pizza, Poulet Rouge, Osmow’s, and many more, so shoppers have an abundance of options to choose from.

New restaurants also continue to open regularly at Food Central – one of their newest openings is popular burger franchise Bingz Burgers, known for their crispy buns and savoury patties made with your choice of Canadian pork, beef, or halal chicken.

With so many options to choose from, Square One encourages guests to check out their dining guide which outlines some of the centre’s best restaurants, their locations, hours, and more info, making it easier to plan your visit.

Beyond their massive restaurant selection, Square One continues to be one of the biggest shopping centres overall, with 330 stores and services covering everything from health and beauty to tech and entertainment.
