Oshawa teacher charged with sexual assault in 12 year-old case

A 43-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with a historical sex assault on a student.
Investigators from Durham Police’s Special Victims Unit arrested a high school teacher after allegations were made by a former student. The suspect is a teacher at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School on Harwood Avenue North in Ajax. The alleged assault took place in June of 2009.
Diego Najera-Cortez of Ritson Road is charged with Sexual Assault. He was released on an Undertaking.
Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
