Recent data collected by Airbnb indicates a 1000 per cent increase in searches for destinations in North America that are in the path of the upcoming solar eclipse, with a handful of them being in Canada. 

According to supplied data, the upcoming planetary event will provide 268 seconds of darkness for those within the path of totality, the geographical laneway of regions where the eclipse is most easily viewed and lasts the longest. 

Ideal Canadian destinations within this pathway include Montreal and the Niagara region, as they provide the most readily accessible locations for tourists to view the eclipse conveniently. 

According to the information provided by Airbnb, those looking to view the solar eclipse in Canadian destinations are keeping an eye out for specific amenities in order to fully enhance their viewing experience. These include locations that include spacious backyards, a private setting and a place that’s a short drive away from local outdoor gathering locations. 

Other North American destinations considered ideal for eclipse viewing include Austin and Hill Country, TX, Mazatlán, Mexico, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Dallas, Buffalo, Stowe, VT and Little Rock, AR.
