Online meet-up leads to sexual assault of youth in Brampton; police search for suspect

Investigators are looking for a man who goes by the name “Jamal” online after a girl was sexually assaulted in Brampton, police say.

The assault happened on Saturday when a female victim met up with a man she had met “on a popular social media platform,” according to Peel Regional Police.

Police say the victim had been chatting online with a man in his 20s known as Jamal, and the two later met up in the area of Bovaird Drive and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton.

Investigators say the victim was sexually assaulted inside a vehicle.

A photo of the male and a description of the vehicle have been released and police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

Jamal is described as a 20-year-old Black male standing approximately 6’0” tall with a thin build, brown eyes and braided hair. He had a mustache, goatee, piercing in both ears, and is was driving a white Mazda four-door sedan.
