UPDATE: One suspect caught, another outstanding after stabbing in Mississauga

Police have one suspect in custody while another is still at large after a man was stabbed in Mississauga this afternoon.

UPDATE: Police say the outstanding suspect was found but is believed not to have been involved in the stabbing. According to officials, the woman in custody appears to have been the only aggressor. There is currently no threat to the public.


Police have one suspect in custody while another is still at large after a man was stabbed in Mississauga this afternoon.

Peel Regional Police say the stabbing happened near Derry Road and Rexwood Road shortly after 5:30 p.m.

A man was found suffering from stab wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.

Officials have not indicated further details on the victim, including his name, age, and place of residence.

A woman was taken into custody while police are still on the hunt for a second suspect.

Investigators describe the second suspect as a man between 40 and 50 years old, with a thin build and has blonde hair in a ponytail. He has no fixed address and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, and beige pants. He was carrying a black backpack.

It remains unclear if the stabbing was a targeted attack or if there is any prior connection between the victim and the suspects.

Circumstances leading up to the incident are still being investigated.

Authorities confirm that there will be a heavy police presence in the area, and drivers should use alternate routes.
