One person in hospital after motorcycle hits pedestrian in Mississauga

One person is in hospital after a motorcycle struck a pedestrian at a busy intersection in Mississauga last night.
Peel Regional Police reported on social media that the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. near Dixie Road and Derry Road.
While one person was injured, the extent of their injuries was initially reported as unknown.
An update a few hours later indicated that the injured individual had been taken to a trauma centre for treatment; however, officials did not specify whether the pedestrian or the motorcycle rider had been injured.
Additional information regarding the victim, including their age, gender, and place of residence, has not been released and police have not provided updates on their condition.
Dixie Road was closed between Drew Road and Derry Road for several hours for police investigations and has since reopened. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
